Stephanie's Journey: Finding Hope and Healing from Endometriosis

"My gynecologist recommended another urogynecologist, who then suggested I see Dr. Singhal after a very painful surgery.

I had gone into the surgery with the mindset of thinking, you know, I'm just making this up. This is gaslighting; this pain doesn't exist. But after the surgery, it was confirmed that yes, I did have endometriosis.

So the entire process, though rocky, led me to that light at the end of the tunnel where I was validated, and the endometriosis was removed, which was nice to know." - Stephanie

Hi, my name is Stephanie. For, gosh, at least five years, I had been experiencing a mystery pain, which I thought was a work injury.

No matter what I did — whether it was physical therapy or the doctors I visited — no one could figure out why I was in that kind of pain.

It was often met with a shrug. I was made to feel that perhaps I was being overdramatic, making it up, or just being difficult.

I had seen a urogynecologist who was very rude about the entire situation.

My gynecologist recommended another urogynecologist, who then suggested I see Dr. Singhal after a very painful surgery. I went to the appointment, and within minutes of talking, not even seconds, and describing my symptoms, Dr. Singhal pretty much immediately knew I had endometriosis, which was incredibly validating to hear.

I had gone into the surgery with the mindset of thinking, you know, I’m just making this up. This is gaslighting; this pain doesn’t exist. But after the surgery, it was confirmed that yes, I did have endometriosis.

So the entire process, though rocky, led me to that light at the end of the tunnel where I was validated, and the endometriosis was removed, which was nice to know.
